Atlantis Health Plan Complaint - Do not get Atlantis Health Plan!!!! - Health Insurance

Health Insurance - Complaint
Review by Rob Tyler on 2009-08-09
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- This insurance will take you for a ride. It seems cheap compared to the others until you need something done.

1) They claim that they have all these doctors in their network however if you call those doctors, they don't accept Atlantis anymore.
2) Since they pay doctors so little, the doctors that do accept them, will see you for 2 minutes and kick you out.
3) Every little thing you want to do will require "PRE-AUTHORIZATION" and they will usually deny it as being MEDICALLY NOT NECCESSARY!

Save yourself the Time and headache. Don't get this insurance. If you already do have this insurance and are having problems, don't hesitate to contact the NY State Attorney General office at 1-800-428-9071. Also, you can contact the NYS Dept of Insurance at http://www.ins. state. ny. us/complhow.htm (1-800-342-3736).

I'm sorry your experience with Atlantis Medical Group has been disappointing. However, I've been a client for 4-5 years and I'm absolutely delighted! I haven't used doctors in the network; instead I go to their satellite office because my dr. tung is the best. The wait has never been more than 30 minutes and as a self-employed person, time management is a huge factor. Besides, many of the tests are done at the office and most commonly prescribed meds are sent by mail. I'm about to turn 65 and pray there is a way to incorporate Medicare into AMG. This is the bestest medical clinic experience I have ever had in my life!

There's one near Penn Station. I use that one. My wife used the one in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. There's also one in Kew Gardens and somewhere on Westchester Ave. in the Bronx.

The best part is you can go there for free!

RUN, RUN FROM THESE PEOPLE - THEY HAVE THE SECOND WORST RATING IN ALL OF NEW YORK STATE, AND HAVE BEEN AT THAT LEVEL OF RATING FOR A FEW YEARS NOW.
READ UP ON THEM FROM THE NEW YORK STATE INSURANCE DIVISION, AND STOP WASTING YOUR PRECIOUS HEALTH CARE MONEY ON THESE ARROGANT PEOPLE WHO HAVE ENDANGERED PEOPLES LIVES THROUGH THEIR CLINICAL REVIEW PROCESS AIMED AT SAVING THEMSELVES (THE OWNERS) MONEY. (AND BY THE WAY: THE FOLKS WHO YOU THOUGHT OWNED ATLANTIS HEALTH PLAN NO LONGER DO SO - BUT YOU WON'T FIND THAT OUT UNTIL YOU TRY CALLING THE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF THE CARD TO ASK FOR HELP WITH A PROBLEM. SO MUCH FOR THEIR INTEGRITY. NOT ONE DOCTOR WHO WAS ONCE AN ATLANTIS PROVIDER HAS A POSITIVE WORD TO SAY ABOUT THEM. ASK YOUR DOCTORS ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES WITH THEM, AS THEY ARE A MORE CREDIBLE RESOURCE THAN RANDOM PATIENTS/FRIENDS OF THE OWNERS - AND THEN FIND SOME OTHER COVERAGE. READ ABOUT THEM - AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE FACTS, NOT ANECDOTES FROM PATIENTS!
