ProFlowersExpress Complaint - No Flowers At The Funeral

Review by mad2dabone on 2009-08-10
I orders some flowers for my ex mother-in-law's funeral, needless to say Proflowers called the morning of the funeral and was unable to found a florist in the area to make the arrangements. This is bad, very bad. My children were upset and so was i.

I would never use a service like this again for this type of occasion...

That was incredibly insensitive of them--knowing why the flowers were ordered. Many of these on-line florist cannot seem to get the job done satisfactorily.

Just a suggestion--Next time you need flowers for a special occasion, check your on-line phone directory for the area the flowers will be sent to and call a local florist. They will get the job done or tell you immediately, that they can't, so at least you'll have a little room to work with. The cost will be pretty close too. I have also had good luck with the FTD site, as I think they also use FTD florists in the area where the flowers need to be delivered.

"....My children were upset and so was i...."
So was the nearest florist, for you not contacting them directly in a fashionable amount of time.

zz--funerals can be a rough time and not everyone is aware that most of the on-line florists are not good to use. They may have been short on time anyway--as you can imagine. Sometimes good intentions backfire--then you learn.

You may want to find a charity that was a favorite of your ex-MIL and make a donation to the charity in her memory. The impact of it will last a lot longer than a plant or flowers.

mad2dabone, you should be mad to the bone about this. let me apologize on behalf of the one rude comment left here, you didn't need to read that in your time of grief and sorrow. I personally want to extend my gratitude to you for taking time to post a warning to others so that they may not encounter the same shabby business practices you did. (vh)

I have a local florist I use. If I need flowers sent out of town, I go see her and it's taken care of.

Flowers sent to the funeral get tossed pretty quickly. Instead, wait until the day after the funeral, and send the flowers to the house. They will be much more enjoyed and appreciated.
