U-Haul Compliment - Excellent Service
AUSTIN, TEXAS -- I've done a lot moving in the last 10 years. U-haul has come through whether I'm moving within the city or between cities. My most recent move was March of this year. I went online and reserved a truck and equipment. A few hours later, I received a call from a U-haul representative to confirm my reservation. She repeated back to me what I needed and provided me with a U-haul service that was close to my home. I asked questions about any extra charges (in case anything had changed) and I was told what I already knew. The extra charges would be if anything were to happen to the truck, while it was in my possession that I hadn't made notation of. Also, if I return it without the gas it came with.
Two weeks later, I went on the appointed time, and got my truck. The poor guy behind the counter was getting hammered with calls, but I was patient. He informed me that the truck size I had reserved wasn't available but there would be no charge extra should I go with a bigger one. I would be billed for the size I reserved. Excellent. While he was putting together the equipment and other things I needed for my journey of moving, I went outside and inspected my truck. I wrote everything down that was wrong with it, to every little scrap, paint remove, anything that was wrong so I wouldn't get charged for something I didn't do. I made sure everything worked properly. He filled up my truck with the equipment, made notation of how much gas was in the truck and I went to make the initial payment (I guess, kind of like an incentive to bring it back). It was a little high, at the time, but again it was an incentive.
Did my moving, made sure the tank was full, came back that day, dropped off the keys, showed the agreement... wham bam, thank you ma'am... was done.
When I actually got charged for my reservation, it was at the amount that I had reserved it for, so it all worked out.
I've been very pleased with how U-haul runs things and will continue to rent from them.
