Lea Industries Complaint - Lea Childrens Bedroom Set Falls Apart!

Review by NPNJ on 2009-08-11
HIGH POINT, NORTH CAROLINA -- I purchased the Jessica McClintock Romance bedroom set for my daughter in August 2007.Purchase price for the pieces I bought was $1,649.70. In June of 2009 the bed rails started coming part under the bed. By July 2009 sharp screws started sticking out of the wood and cut my daughters leg. August 2009 the entire rail fell apart on one side and the bed collapsed. I contacted Lea Industries about this was informed that the one year warranty had passed so they could not and would not help me. I say would not because I asked them to accommodate me in some way and was told "no". I informed them that the screws had cut my daughters leg and she had a small scar forming. They did not ask for information or show any interest in what had happened. The woman who took my call said that my daughter probably broke it by jumping on it! My daughter is 16 years old and a straight A student. She doesn't jump on the bed. I was put through to an extension of a customer service representative who did not answer or return my calls. I was informed that I would have to purchase new rails at full price.

I would never ever give these people my money again! The wood on the rails SPLIT right in half. Why would I buy another set of rails knowing it will fall apart and they don't care? They make crappy quality furniture and slap the Jessica McClintock name on it. After the very short, one year, warranty is over they do not care. Beware! Don't waste your money if you want your child's furniture to last more than one year. If your child is injured they will not help you.
