Panacer.com Complaint - Rebate Fraud - GEM computer monitor

Review by Anonymous on 2004-06-16
WOODLAND HILLS, CALIFORNIA -- A GEM computer monitor was purchased at Fry's Electronics
A $50 rebate slip was included with the receipt (GEM LCD Rebate offer)
The slip was filled out with scrupulous attention to detail,
photocopied, mailed on time from inside a post office and sent to Panacer.com
The monitor was returned for refund to Fry's and because the
UPC was missing, $50 was deducted from the refund.
Even after several months no payment came.
A visit to the panacer.com site showed the rebate slip was received.
The company has no phone posted on the site.
Several emails were sent to the site demanding payment
The first one was answered with the assurance that
payment would be sent in 2 weeks, nothing came.
The rest were unanswered.
Letters were written to the FBI, Postal Inspector, and FTC

Same happened to me. I even have certified mail receipt. I'm going after Fry's to get my $70 rebate. Clearly there is some fraud going on here.

Same problem it's been six months & everytime Fry's Electronics says it will be mailed that week & of course it does not. They will NEVER get me to buy anymore of their products but I WILL get my money if it has to be Fry's store credit. Fry's needs to STOP selling products from companies that are KNOWN for not honoring their rebates.
