Enterprise Rent-A-Car Complaint - I Was Played!
COLUMBUS, OHIO -- IM writing this letter for the concern of myself and other consumers. What IM finding out to be a corrupted rental car company that is collecting money for liability insurance and not standing behind what there customer’s pay for! I arrived in Columbus on the 23 of March 2009, at 2:00AM from being out driving for the company I work for. I woke up tired and got a ride to the Enterprise office On Broad St. I made a reservation and rented a 2008 Chevy Cobalt. The car was checked for damage and I sign the contract and left. I went back to my employer to clean up and got things out of my Rig and got in the car. At this time I realized that I did not elect the damage waver and went inside my employer to call the branch were I got the car. I spoke with The Branch Manager, and told him I wanted to add the liability insurance before I left Columbus, and asked if I needed to bring the car back with the contract to have it sign and validated. I was told no I did not need to come in that he will add it on. End of call. While having the car I went to pick my son up from school in Piqua Ohio and was the victim of a person on there cell phone backed into the front of the car. Police was called no report could be taken due to privet property. Due to the fact that there was major damage to the car that hit me, and no damage to the new car I was driven I did not file a crash report. I returned the car on 3/27/09 with no damage. And discussed the issue with the Manager of that branch. I was told from this manager upon collecting the $121.92 for liability fees for the 4 day rental that it was insured from the time I rented the car on 3/23/09 10:57 AM to 3/27/09 8:33AM. So at this point I feel that I had, and was insured on the questioned date. I have receipts from the rental for proof. I received a letter from the insurance stating I was not covered due to that I called 45 minutes after I rented the car, and was told if they would considered the claim they would deny payment due to my story of event‘s.. I have placed several call’s to Enterprise Loss Prevention, and the local Brach, and home office. And I have not heard from anyone from Enterprise to explain why things are not being covered after I paid for the insurance for liability. I have filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney Generals Office. I have found out thru legal services that Enterprise failed to due several things as far as there policy , and now IM a victim of this. My Ohio Driver license is Suspended for 90 days due to Enterprise saying I had no coverage but yet they were happy to collect the $121.92 for all the liability insurance. And I have a receipt for proof. It‘s sad that I can‘t get Nobody at the local office, And local Home office to work with me. I have filed every complaint I can with Ohio Insurance, BBB. I hope to get some help.
