TXU Energy Complaint - Refund due

I changed to another energy company in June. My last bill from TXU included $200 for early cancellation. I had no contract with them.
I called TXU and they said they would investigate. On July 14,I received an email that stated "I checked your account and they have sent the refund request for $200 early cancellation to billing and you will be receiving a check for $196.76. This is for your deposit minus th TDSP charge.
As of Aug. 13, I still don't have the check.
I have called TXU about this 5 times.

Good luck. TXU is not the swiftest group of folks to deal with.

Whenever a company has to pay you back, you can bet they are going to take their sweet time about it. I've been owed refunds for overpayments from everyone from the orthodontist to an auto finance company. They have certain days when they send out checks. Funny...they don't have certain days when they will gladly take your money. You will probably get it, just not any time soon.

I finally got my check for $196.76. They kept $3.24 for my deposit and DSP charge for my final bill. What a bummer!
