Renton Honda Complaint - Renton Honda - ADVERTISING FRAUD

Review by FarmersInsuranceSucks on 2009-08-14
RENTON, WASHINGTON -- We got what appeared to be an "official" mailing from the NHTSA directing us to go only to Renton Honda for this "Cash For Clunkers" program.

The mailing is stamped with the NHTSA and CARS logos on the front, and is in the form-factor of what looks like an "official" government document. We saw through this scam right away and my wife actually called the Seattle office of the NHTSA - to which we heard that they were investigating Renton Honda about this already.

You have to wonder how many people might get fooled by what looks like the NHTSA "directing" customers to Renton Honda.

Read for yourself and decide for yourself if this isn't total fraud.

The text reads as follows:

======================================

1. The government is offering you $3,500 to $4,500 trade-in allowance for the vehicle referenced above and for any other vehicles in your household that qualify. This is likely to be thousands of dollars more thatn you would normally get for your trade-in.

2. This is a first-come first serve Government Sponsored Program aimed at taking gas guzzlers off the road and putting their owners in new vehicles and new leases

3. Your vehicle has been directed to the Renton Honda, Program Center. Call today. This program expires soon and will not be valid once government funds have run out.
