Qwest Complaint - Poor, threating, and unfair billing practices
CASTLE ROCK, COLORADO -- I recently had my service with qwest disconnected and it was very difficult. When asked why I told them I could no longer pay twice the ammount for my DSL line and that they could not seem to resolve the problem. I was transferred to several different people and disconnected twice when I finally did get some one that could help I was told a 250 dollar early disconnect fee would be applied... I was quite outraged as this fee was never mentioned and any of my bills nor was it mentioned in my initial start up contract. What was even more frustrating was that the operator asked me "now being aware of this fee do you still what to disconnect your service?" I said yes and I have not intention of paying it. She then told me; "well it will be refered to a collection agency, and it will impact your credit which may make it hard for you to find a job or rent an apartment in the future" So I got really upset whith the threating and condescending tone she was taking, I mean dear god man, do these crooked corporations really controll this much of our lives? For the want of randomly, unethicly billing and leveling fees on an individual they would go so far as to deny your very right to exisist? Eat? Work and provide for your loved ones? I would very much like to know what evil overlord of Qwest instituted this billing practice god forbid they get into the healthcare business! I am going to fight this all the way to collection and would ask this forum if there is any class action recourse as they have settled in other states, because talking with customer service is a waste of time!
