Raddison Hotel Halifax Complaint - Hell in Halifax

My wife and I stayed at the Halifax Hotel. On
arrival I paid cash for the whole week.
I asked the clerk to leave my Visa alone because I only had a 1000.00 limit
on it. We had just paid for our daughters wedding the week before and had not
had a vacation in over 15 years. the hotel clerk said she would just hold
the number incase of extras. I went to use my Visa to rent a car and it would
not go through. We had enough cash for the cab ride back..The car rental
clerk said we had maxed out. I called my bank and they told me the hotel
put the charges on it. We where stranded in Halifax with no money. I had to
wire friends at my embarrasssment to get 500.00 We could not reach them that
night...I called the hotel manager and she would not reverse the
charges. Thank your staff for ruining our only vaction. I made it clear not
too use my card. The manager should have done something to fix this mess or
at least helped us out..My wife has to go in for knee surgery and this was
the only vaction we could afford to take off..I guess there is nothing we
can do now. We spent the next night sitting in our room watching TV and
didn't even have enough for dinner. Thanks again ..

What were the charges they put on your card? Were they valid charges? So many questions so little information.

I am not quite sure I understand. You asked the hotel NOT to put the charges through because you only had $1000 left on the card. You paid the whole bill IN ADVANCE with cash. What charges did they put through??? Something is not adding up. Please clarify!!

You paid cash..then they charged you again on your credit card..and now they won't reverse the charges? Am I missing something?

If you had receipt of your stay paid in cash..I can't understand why the manager wouldn't just reverse the charges.
