Travelocity Informative - Travelocity does not have its own service department
Travelocity does not have its own customer service department. It farms out all complaints, inquiries, etc. to an overseas firm. The overseas firm has a notorious record for handling customer complaints as they use every trick in the book to frustrate the caller. For example, slow the process down as much as possible as the caller is often at an airport or checking in at a hotel. This way the caller is pressured to hang up in frustration. How to do this is simple. Ask for the same information more than once. Ask for the ok to put you on hold for 5 or more minutes, even though it takes seconds to get information. Offer no solution, even obvious ones. Just repeat what you said the problem is and that Travelocity can do nothing. If necessary put you on hold again and again. Then blame someone else. Blame the airline, the hotel, government regulations, etc.
The best part is how Travelocity brags about its customer service. It is the worst in the travel industry by far.
