Ashley Furniture Complaint - Late Delivery Dates
CALIFORNIA -- I purchased a couch and ottoman from Ashley July 24th and was told to expect 4 weeks for delivery but that there many in the warehouse so delivery would possibly be sooner. I didn't hold my breath, thinking this might've just been an add'l sales ploy.
On August 11th I received a phone call from Ashley that the delivery date of my invoice (August 16th) is now August 18th and to expect another call early that day for time of delivery. I couldn't wait to see my purchase finally in my home!
By August 20th I had yet to hear from anyone representing Ashley Furniture! I was now upset. I called the Distribution Center and was told that the clerk who called my on August 11th made a mistake by telling me to expect delivery August 18th, that it's actually September 18th! That's 2 months from original purchase date! I told the distribution center that I wanted to cancel my order because I didn't want to wait another month from a couch and ottoman but was then told they'd be withholding 30% of my purchase price as a cancellation fee! After giving them $1000 they were going to keep $333 for their own error? Please America, DON'T BUY FROM ASHLEY! There are too many other furniture stores out there with great stuff, just find one!
