General Electric Company Complaint - Consumer relations
I purchased this unit on 5/14/09. Two months later it stopped working. I knew we had a one year warranty on the product. I called the warranty department and was told that they could not fix it due to unknown reasons. Trust me I was upset that not only could they not fix the problem but they could not tell me why. THey transferred me to consumer relations. I talked to a nice lady named Zaira. She informed me that all I needed to do was fax in the receipt to her personally and she would get the rebate check started. I emphazized on the fact that I am not a rich man and I need some cool air in my trailer. I told her I was going to go purchase another one that evening. She repeated 3 times that I would receive this check within 5 to 7 days. When I received the check it was NOT a check. It was a good will certificate. Not once was this mentioned in our conversation. Needless to say....am dissappointed in the fact that 1. the warranty is useless 2. I was mis-informed by consumer relations 3. I am sitting here with an air conditioner that I have spent $600 on and it aint worth the cost of the screws that came with it.
