Walgreens Pharmacy, Spearfish, South Dakota Complaint - Overcharge for Insulin
I was on vacation last week, visiting my new baby grand daughter. I am a diabetic, and in need of a new vial of insulin. I had my daughter stop at the new Walgreens store, thinking I would get a reasonable price there. First of all, the lady at the pharmacy counter said to the pharmacist that I needed insulin and had no prescription. I do not need a prescription to buy insulin, I always just purchase it. He said he would have to check with someone on that, and left for a moment. He came back and handed the clerk the box and said, "see if this will scan, and if so, go ahead and sell it to her." It scanned, and here is my main complaint-- the price was $51.99, when the usual price I buy it for is $23.78!! I can understand a price difference of a couple of dollars, but come on!!! And to top it all off, the clerk and the pharmacist were both very rude about it!! This is a brand new store--do they want peoples business, or do they want everyone to go ahead and shop at WalMart, which is just about the only other option in Spearfish?!
