Ford Motor Complaint - Defective paint on 2000 Expedition
MARIETTA, GEORGIA -- My son purchased a used 2000 Expedition last year. The roof paint started cracking. Last December, he took it to a dealership and was told it looked like the original paint job was defective. The area rep was out of town, so my son took it to another dealership in the town where he goes to college. This dealership agreed that the paint looked defective, but that to get it repainted the area rep would have to see it and take digital pictures to send to Ford. This was done, and he got a letter saying nothing would be done. The roof is now completely rusted with no paint. We sent a complaint to the Customer Dispute Board which also turned him down because the car is out of warranty. I guess the paint didn't fall on fast enough. Our family has owned 8 Fords throught the years, and we were seriously purchasing a new Mustang convertible. Now, however, we are through with a company that will not stand behing their product. We were loyal for years. Even through the Firestone crisis, our college age daughter drove an Explorer as I do now. Ford given no reason to continue to be customers.
