Sears Complaint - Kenmore Elite 665 Leaks & Warranty Service Stinks
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- We purchased a Kenmore Elite 665 Dishwasher in early 2008. It started leaking from the bottom of the unit less than one year after we purchased it, in early 2009. It leaks so much that we get a stream across our kitchen and our floor has been warped. Unfortunately, it does not leak every time we run it -- only about 1 in 3 runs of the dishwasher, and late in the cycle, so the repair people won't sit around waiting for the whole cycle to run and instead say that we are the problem.
We have had the Sears warranty repair service to our home three times. Each time, they could not find the leak, so they said we had to be doing something wrong, such as loading too much soap or loading the wrong kind of soap or putting dishes in the dishwasher incorrectly, etc. It was all nonsense. Even after following their advice about loading the washer and using soap, we still get leaks. A half a year has gone by and, due to job loss, we can't afford to go buy a cheap dishwasher that actually works; so we're still have a leaking dishwasher & it appears that we wasted a lot of money buying an "Elite" model and the extra warranty service. I strongly recommend against spending extra money for this dishwasher or for the Sears warranty service.
