Priceline/Advantage Rent a Car Complaint - Big Savings-Not! - auto rental

Review by Simply Ralph on 2009-08-22
DANIA, FLORIDA -- My wife and I booked a car rental through Priceline over a month in advance of our vacation to Florida. After our 9 hr flight from Seattle, we checked with Advantage for our car. They didn't have one for us. They had no cars. Our hotel was 25 miles away; we were stranded. The desk person offer no assistance, alternatives, or advise, only a pathetic," I'm sorry". A kind stranger directed us to another auto rental agency. We had to rent a car for a day and return it to pick up our reserved rental. The reason for the advance rental and going through Priceline was to save money; that did not happen. The agreed cost was $284.15 for advanced booking. The actual cost for the combined rentals were $467.24. Priceline and Advantage Rent a Car have done absolutely nothing to right this wrong.

Why didn't you have a car? Were the wrong dates given, or did Advantage run out of rentals? More information is needed.
