Wild Blue Internet Informative - Bad Installer
I called Wild Blue to get internet satellite. The first salesman was an ethical person. His first few questions were to ask why my needs were. Satellite internet is very expensive compared to DSL/cable. There is a LIMIT of how much you can use. For those who live outside the fiber optics ladden areas you have either dial up/satellite or as I have discovered 3G (mobile 3g network). He stated for my needs Satellite with its 12 gigabyte limit/mo was not a good fit. I thought about it and called back later to order as I had no good alternative. The 2nd person I dealt with did not inquire as to my needs. There purpose was to sign me up immediately. Since I knew I wanted the service I signed up. Problems started with the installers.
They wanted to mount the satellite in an awkward area, so as to use the least amount of cable, probably to make the install easier. I have direct TV...and they did a great job, of installing the dish and running the cables. These guys wanted to mount the dish on a post they would build, run the cables along the ground and that it would cost 200 extra. I called a local installer and they confirmed my suspicion and stated that was not necessary. I ended up getting Verizon mobile broadband. It costs more, but since its portable its very convenient and well worth the price. 59 dollars a month.
If you cancel prior to install you get charged a restocking fee of about 50 dollars. if you cancel after the install its much more expensive. 15 dollars/month for 2 years (contract) plus the restocking fee..and another fee to take down the dish.
