Goodwill Suffolk, Va Complaint - Over Pricing - Donated Items

Review by cathysti1958 on 2009-08-24
SUFFOLK, VA -- Has anyone been in the Godwill in Suffolk, Va lately, well if your like me the prices keep soaring and soaring to the point that its cheaper at Wal Mart and brand new. I rarely buy anything these days due to outrageous prices ex. used old coats 26.00 are you kidding you must think everyone is on drugs. Beware anything over 5.00 you will receive a gift check and they don't post this for the consumer to know, so if you spent 100.00 yur not getting it back. They say there non-profit well someone is making a damn profit. I believe Goodwill is just taking advantage of the economy and poor people shame on you Goodwill. U should be calling yourself retail store and not thrift store.

Oh, I guess you would have to pay taxes then. Get grip on your prices or whoever is pricing because any sane person isn't going to pay you these ridiculous prices.

You don't understand the concept of Goodwill.

My local Goodwill prices have shot up and the shopping crowds have disappered. In some cases prices more then doubled. And now there are NO returns. All sales are final. I don't purchase like I used to. I live in PA and they charge tax on the items they sell. This is a non profit and don't pay tax. So why are they able to charge it?
