Nz Lamb Co. Complaint - Bad Meat
LYNCHBURG, VA. -- I purchased a boneless leg of lamb from Sam's Club on the 23rd of Aug. 2009. It was dated to be sold by the 25th of Aug. 2009. The was shipped from New Zealand. It was frozen and wrapped in plastic and tied with butchers cord. I noticed it had a very odd smell. I thawed it in the frig. and unwrapped it and removed the cord and the smell was very rank, but I was expecting company and could not exchange or buy another piece of meat. I laced it with a lot of garlic and roasted it for the required time. I just want to say I have been cooking lamb for years this happens to be my family's favorite meat, but this was so awful we couldn't eat it. we were afraid we would become ill. I had never purchased lamb wrapped or tied like this. My lamb legs were always fresh smelling and always smelled wonderful.
I just hope if anyone bought this kind of lamb they didn't get sick. I will never shop there again.
