LA Fitness Complaint - Duped into a personal training contract
SAN MARCOS, CALIFORNIA -- If it sounds too good to be true...and I fell for it anyway. I was offered "free" sessions if I entered into this contract and was ASSURED that I could get out of it at anytime. I was near broke with no income expected for several months so why would I even get into something that I could not get out of when necessary?
I questioned the terms of the contract but was instructed to "just come see me and I'll take care of it" when/if the time came to cancel and STOP the automatic payments. That is what I did but was again given incorrect and misleading information. Another payment was debited from my account. $39.00 may not seem like a lot but it is when you need it to put gas in your car!
I have been getting the run-around from the corporate office and the club where I joined. I canceled my club membership, by the way, and that went through without any trouble. I thought about freezing membership but saw that my schedule and lifestyle just did not have room for it to be of any real advantage.
All I want is the ABSOLUTE cancellation of the contract, that I and my attorney friends believe was entered into under questionable and possible illegal terms, and a refund of the last payment of $39.00. That's all. Nothing more.
