Chevrolet Complaint - Rotors Not Covered? HHR LT 2
SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA -- We've been GM owners mainly because two family members worked there: One in high capacity for Pontiac,(30+ yrs) the other Genl Manager for GMC trucks(15+)yrs, and we got employee or dealer cost every time, NICE vehicles with the bells & whistles. We still own POntiac 99 grand am, and GMS truck, 2002. Previously to these we owened HONDA AND TOYOTAS. I LOVED THEM THEN< I WANT ONE NOW.
Anyway, so I Bought this vehicle used(one prev owner), OCT 2008.an HHR-LT 2 wagon, nice, got EXPEnsive moonroof installed, had xm radio, it's got the chromed stepside, and chrome rack on top, dark silver greay, LOVE it! Bought from an Acura dealer in our area. I liked the cute sporty look, ran well, mileage, oMG! FANTAStic! Had 12,000 miles. First owner had it 7-8 months.(B to B Factory WARRANTY Started JAN 2008 when he first purchased) Got the car, first noticed little sqeaking on the brakes, no biggie, nothing major. Then when rains came a little leak went down on carpet passenger rightside front, no biggie really, because I first tho0ught it was water we spilled or soemthing, becauseI drink water a lot when I go out... but it was constant...slow, but always there a little bit(noticed from the smell) Then gone, nothing more. ok fast forward-Last couple months trans felt like it was "heavy" like. gear shifter occasionally hard to move, getting stuck sometimes, and not going into gear right away. BUT THE Worst was to come-LAst week while driving over 50+mph car started to shimmy and shake when slowly braking for traffic. Keeps doing it. Took car into today, husband said it must be the rotors, They tell me "Factory B to B does not cover brakes, they're only good for 18,000 oir 18,000 miles." I said "reallY ?? AND where does it say that?" I showed them the warranty book that says-"does not cover BRAKE PADS or BRake LINERS" I say "It says NOTHING about ROTORS," "Well, he says, we have to inspect it to see if it is factory fault," (at a cost to ME of $130.00),"otherwise you could be driving badly, breaking excessively, and that would be your fauly, or too much wear and tear. it would not be covered" THERE is NOW 22,000 miles on the car. HOw could they tell if it's the person or the factory and how would I KNOW if they are lying or not??? After all these consumer complaints for the SAME car and the SAME problems OBVIOUSLY SOMEThing is wrong here, doncha think? Andybody else get this kinda feedback from the service dept? We talked to the genl mgr, he said to call the 1-800 number, WE ARE. and if so, what are you doing about it?
Thanks for listening
