EasyRide South Pacific Shuttle Service Complaint - Shuttle Did Not Show Up & No Refund Given
SAN JOSE -- We sent payment via PayPal for $200 that was to cover transportation from the San Jose airport to Domincal, Costa Rica and then also to be picked-up in Domincal and dropped off at a hotel in San Jose the following week.
Unfortunately, when we were to leave, the shuttle did not arrive to pick us up in Dominical to bring us to San Jose. We tried to contact the shuttle driver and continued to get his voicemail and no answer. He also did not return our calls. I then walked to a hotel office where you can schedule the shuttle pick up times, and the office attendant said that another couple came to her the day before and said they were not picked up by EasyRide either and needed assistance arranging transportation. Supposidly the van broke down. She too left a message for the driver with no response back.
We then had to arrange for a cab to drive us to San Jose and pay out of pocket. Once back to the states, we checked our PayPal account and the refund had not been processed for our return transportation from Domincal to San Jose. We also did not receive an email confirming the cancellation or an apology for service not provided to us. At this point, we have no idea why the shuttle did not arrive to pick us up and we don't know why we have not received a refund.
Per the EasyRide website:
Mechanical problems. In the event that our vehicle experiences mechanical problems due to breakdown or accident, the reservation will be cancelled by Easy Ride Shuttle Services and the portion of the service that cannot be completed will be refunded. Avanti reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to make alternate arrangements in the event of a mechanical problem or accident to complete the trip.
PayPal denied our partial refund, and EasyRide has not responsed back to our phone calls or emails regarding a refund. At this point, we are out the money and EasyRide scammed us.
