Amana Complaint - Avoid Amana
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- I purchased a condo a year ago with a brand new gas range and refrigerator (still taped shut and everything). The range broke within 6 months. I was without a range for 2 months, missed approximately 2 weeks of work and they still refused to replace it stating that I had a "repair only" policy.
The refrigerator broke within a year. The replacement they sent was the wrong model and could not be opened in my kitchen due to the configuration of the kitchen. The next one they sent did not work. I was told that they could not even talk to me for 24 hours until the temperature had "settled". My room was 74 degrees, the frige was 78 degrees and blowing out hot air. But Caleb insisted there was nothing I could do. When my husband called shortly therafter they scheduled a repairman to come the next morning before Caleb had told me I was even allowed to call to request service.
So in summary:
They're products stink
They discrimiate against women
Their service stinks
And they have no concern for the ridiculous amount of inconvience they cause customers (3 weeks out of work, eating take out for months, throwing away an entire frige worth of food) because their service department does not provide service.
DO NOT BUY AMANA FOR ANY REASON!!!!
