Netflix.com Complaint - 8-10 bad dvds for Netflix.com don't use this company

Review by lauracarpe on 2009-08-29
They have sent out 8-10 bad DVD's that freeze up at the end. Called customer service they act like I am lying or it is my machine. DVD's from Walmart work perfect. This guy Bryan is rude. and does not care about my business. I have had them in the past and service was good and now their service is not good and customer service representaives are rude and obnoxious.

I have been a Netflix customer for 3 years and have rarely had problems with unplayable discs. Usually such discs would have deep scratches or gouges that make them unplayable. I only returned 2 discs over the past 3 years that arrived cracked. And Netflix has been good at replacing damaged or unplayable DVD's. If a disc is unplayable, make sure there are no fingerprints on the disc, and clean the disc before playing. Also, your DVD player might be on its last legs if a lot of discs are ending up freezing.

can you use the download version?

i would hate to wait for the videos to ship. and one cannot expect a certain movie to ship. they ship from your list what is available.

I haven't had a problem with DVDs not playing, nor have I had a problem with receiving them in a timely manner. If I were to put the DVD I have today, Saturday, in the mail, I would have my next DVD by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.

Just throwing this out there, but wouldn't different videos come from different manufacturers?

I wonder if your DVD player is old? I have one from like 100 years ago and it has problems with many modern DVDs.

With DVD prices so low, I opted to upgrade and dropped $40 on a new one... =)
