Marie Callender Complaint - Marie Callender Frozen Meal Quality tanks

Review by Pepi on 2009-08-31
I have been a consumer of Marie Callender forzen meals for many years and over time as one might expect their quality has gone down hill big time. I used to consider them the "Caddilac of frozen meals", now they've become the Yugo.
The latest and last frozen meal of theirs I had today was their "Meat Loaf and Gravy" and it was actually disgusting. The meat was stringy, lumpy and had tons of gristle and veins, a major turnoff. I've noticed their downward spriral for a few years now and as far as I'm concerned for what they were once famous, a great frozen meal, they no longer are. You'd be much better off with Stoufers or Boston Market.

Oooh...Boston Market's frozen meals are good, though not a huge fan of frozen food.

I haven't bought frozen meals in a long time. I have to tell you that sounds disgusting. I always heard MC was tops in the frozen meal and dessert industry. I guess they're cutting corners now!

pepi, that does sound disgusting indeed. doesn't sound like a meal I'd offer my pooch.

btw, my yugo has 347k miles and counting.

I've had used the Marie Calendar frozen meals for a long time and my favorite had mashed potatoes and gravy and a breaded chicken patty with a small ear of corn....it was delicious!, now they just put corn in without the cob and the chicken isn't near as good as it was. Their turkey dish is "ok" but no great shakes either. Hungry Man puts out better dinners and often times, I have gone back to the old $1.00 Banquet dinners, especially since I have cut back on portion size and am trying to lose weight. Frozen meals are for days when I am too busy to cook, I prefer making extra of home cooked meals and freezing my own prepared dinners to throw in the oven....yummmm!!

If I found a vein in a piece of meatloaf, I would FREAK!

I hate to hear that Marie Callenders is going downhill, it was a cut above a few years back.

All frozen meals taste nasty to me. But when I'm to lazy to whip out my spatula and cook. I usually nuke me a frozen dinner. You get all your basic food groups and salts.

Wally the chicks dig a man who can cook or a man who can spring for five star dining. There's not much demand for a man who can nuke a hungry man. Perhaps a cooking class at your local community college is in order. It's a good place to meet the ladies.

Is that one of your pickup lines Wally? Hey, baby, wanna come back to my pad for a FRIED bologna sammie. It's second to none.

No offense Wally but I can only see that line working at a homeless shelter or maybe an Al Anon meeting.

Stew Wasn’t your pick up line to Sue, hey babe wanna come back to my place. Just saved a few cents on a couple McDonalds Sammie’s. By giving the employee the third degree. Now we have enough money to splurge at the local swapmart.

LMAO, Wally!

Wallace, Sue and I were best friends for over ten years before we ever hooked up. I think the line was more along the lines of eh, why not, I'm game if you are.

I'm just trying to help you out Wally. You are in your 20's and without woman therefore you are happy. This makes me very jealous so I must do all I can to get you into our camp so that we can commiserate.
