Walt Disney World Complaint - "Magical Vacation---NOT" - Hotel Room Cleanliness

Hotel Room Cleanliness - Complaint
Review by C21Jan on 2009-09-02
I am at the end of my first day of a 6 day vacation at Walt Disney World to help celebrate my grandaughters 5th & 7th birthdays. In fact, today is Kayla's 5th Birthday. It is now 2:20am and I just finished taking a "tepid" bath--got tired of waiting for hot water. While sitting in the lukewarm tub, noticed a pool of old urine around the toilet bolt facing the tub (which I didn't see earlier when the girls took a bath). Got out of the tub (disgusted) and went to take my pj's off the door hook and noticed darkened spots from the middle to the top of the door (looked like possible mold). Freaked me out and I took a damp towel to wipe it and it came off. YUCK!!! Sitting here on the computer complaining & can't sleep. Going to ruin my day with the girls for sure.

That place sounds like Days Inn or Motel 6!

What hotel is this?

Surely you called the front desk so that they could fix the issue, right?

Why take a bath in a motel?

You didn't mention which WDW hotel you're staying at, but, I can't imagine why you would not have contacted the front desk immediately to let them know about the problems. I have stayed *mostly* in the value resorts and have NEVER had the sort of experience you are describing. I have probably spent at least 15+ nights on the WDW property, over the past three years. I have always found the rooms to be clean, but Ii would *expect* the management to do *something* if I found the things you did, in my room.

Was this a Disney hotel or an "off campus" hotel?

Disney's All-Star hotels are nice, though the buses are a little crowded at the end of the night.

If this was a Disney hotel, I'd be very surprised.
If this was not a Disney hotel, I don't see how Disney is to blame.

Personally I wouldn't let a dirty bathroom ruin my day at Walt Disney World with my granddaughters, but I would make sure that those in charge knew about it and I would insist that something is done about it. That is just unsanitary.

If the bathroom is so obviously filthy, it would have me wondering if the sheets and pillow cases had been changed on the bed since the previous guests occupied the room. It sounds like whoever cleans that room is on the very lazy side and does as little as possible.

It would also be helpful to know the name of the hotel you're staying at, as your post would have more power and other people would be better informed.

"....and noticed darkened spots from the middle to the top of the door (looked like possible mold)...."

C21, that does sound pretty disgusting but on a scale of 1 to 10, your experience was about a "4" compared to what a fellow member had to witness at a Disney Park. Just the mere thought of his horrifying "10 scale" visit still makes my hair curl!!!
Best of luck to you and the girls. (VH)
