Washer - Complaint
BENTON HARBOR, MICHIGAN -- I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and I urge anyone reading this to do so as well. My 7 year old washer has 30 years of rust on the the exterior of the tub. Since I did nothing to cause this problem, I suspected that my washer was a lemon. I contacted the customer service department and was unable to reach a satisfactory resolution to the problem. So I wrote to Mr. Marc Bitzer, President US Operations and received a telephone call from Ms Ann Voss of Whirlpool's executive offices. To say the least, Ms Voss was extremely rude and even stated that perhaps I was making up the problem with my washer. When I requested that she put Mr. Bitzer on the telephone, she refused my request and she also stated that she makes all executive decisions on behalf of the Whirlpool Corporation. I wrote another letter to Mr. Bitzer and received another telephone call from Ms Voss. I then wrote a letter to Mr. Jeff Fettig, CEO of Whirlpool Corporation, and requested a formal response, in writing, about my defective washer and Whirlpools proposed solution. I did finally receive a written response but it was from Mr. Fettig's executive assistant. For some reason, Whirlpools executives are hiding behind their assistants. I have never contacted a corporation where they refuse to acknowledge a legitimate customer complaint or where the executives hide behind their inferior staffs. They will not even visit my home and review the defective washer but instead just attack me, a loyal customer. So buyer beware, Whirlpool sells defective products and their customer service is non exsistent.
