SAFECO Corp Complaint - Burned - Home insurance policy
Home insurance policy - Complaint
This past year has been pretty tough here in the valley area. Two Major fires very close to home and now the La Canada(Station Fire)just a couple of miles away. The Marek fire was two blocks from my home. A palm tree in front of my house was ablaze. Fortunately I waited until the last minute to evacuate and was there to put it out. When we filed a claim with Safeco to get the place cleaned up they sent out a lab technician to gather samples. By the time the two investigators came out we had already done some cleaning to make the place tolerable for us to live in. The lab report said there was no contamination that exceeded Toxic levels and they denied the claim. Cut and dry. When we called to talk to someone they wouldn't even discuss it with us.

You only mentioned damage to your palm tree. What about the house?

Perhaps they are correct in saying toxic levels were fine; have any neighbors had issues with their insurance carriers?
