Garmin Complaint - Outdated map when I got it - Nuvi
Nuvi - Complaint
STATESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA -- The map was old when I got it. After two years of not trusting it, I didn't want to update the map and purchased a GPS for Dummies for the price of updating the Garmin map and love it.

All GPS units come with 'outdated' maps. If you had read the instructions you would have seen that they want you to register and update it within 30 days of purchase. That way you would have gotten the most recent map free of charge.

Just recently added a chip to our Nuvi to update it. I am very happy with our garmin.

I bought the lifetime update package for my Garmin for $120.00. Well worth it to me.

as stated the GArmin updates are free. Nice 'complaint' but Garmin is way easier to use and actually has good customer service. They walked me thru the whole 'update' issue

Be careful with that lifetime update option. The U.S. government hasn't upgraded or replaced some of the satellites in orbit that supply this service. Last I heard, it might not be working in 2 years when the already old satellites start coming offline.

No problem. Then I'll get $120.00 worth of updates until then since it costs $60.00 a year to upgrade any way.
