Maroone Dodge of Pembroke Pines Complaint - Transmission dis service

Review by antwan718 on 2009-09-04
PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA -- I needed to get the transmission fluid changed on my truck so I took it to the dealership The truck has an 18 quart capacity of transmission fluid 6 in the pan and 12 in the torque converter. I specifically called prior to ask if the operation entailed removal of ALL the fluid. The job can be messy since my mother does not trust me to clean after I had to take it in.

After paying looking at the invoice I see only 6 quarts replaced. After calling back to ask what's up and got denied any sort of refund. Now after paying 200 dollars to have the job 1/3 done I need to drain ALL the new fluid put in along with that in the torque converter. To fix the dealer mess up I need to spend another 110$ to purchase another 18 quarts of fluid and correctly flush the dam thing.

Just for my own education.

Since most torque converters are sealed systems, why would it need to be flushed?

From what I have read, most manufacture's recommend total replacement instead of flushing if there is a torque converter problem. They would also need specialized machinery to perform a flush since there are no drain plugs.
