Rome's Pizza Compliment - Wonderful little place

Review by Shevie on 2009-09-05
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA -- Rome's Pizza is a small, mom & pop place that has the best pizza this side of New York, according to my New Yorker partner. Her New Yorker mother agrees. To me, they have the best pizza that ever passed my lips. The perfect blends of cheeses and sauces, and the crust is heavenly perfection. We've had some other of their Italian dishes and they are great, too.

If you are ever in the Phoenix metro area and are wanting some good, home-cooked Italian food, Try Rome's. Rome (pronounced Rom-e, with a long e) and her husband are true Italians, complete with accent and ways of talking. They are only 1 1/2 miles west of the Loop 101 on McDowell Road in Scottsdale. That's the eastern part of Loop 101 for those not familiar with the area.

I heard of Rome when I lived in Arizona, and was told they served a fantastic p[izza. I, sadly, was never able to get there, as I dearly love a good pizza.

I drive passed this place everyday. I'll have to stop in and try it on my way home from work

Hey Starlord, did you ever eat at Pizzeria Bianco here in PHX? They have been voted Best Pizza in the country. I want to try it one of these days, but I hear that there's a 4 hour wait everyday

How do you define spam, raven2002? I have no association with the place, I just really like their food. Any suggestions on how I could have worded it differently to sound less spammy?

Shevie, it's not personal, I promise. Maybe I am just jaded. maybe you are too accomplished a write. It reads to me as though an employee or family member of employee/owner wrote it.

Based on other member comments here, I am the only one who feels that way. it really truly reads like an ad campaign to me. But hey, that's MY issue...not yours.

Happy holiday weekend!

Little, maybe the best in the county, but Papa Murphy's has been voted the Best Pizza Place in the USA for 6 years running. Sorry. As I said,at home, in Coolidge, we bought Red Baron. After discovering Papa Murphy's in Washington, we bought it at their store in Chandler. Love your posts, keep 'em coming. Wish we could have met you before we moved.

This sounds like a "free" ad for Rome;s Pizza. To me it reads like the owners or friends of the owners are just taking advantage of this forum for free advertising. Just my opinion.

This person did NOT spam. Spammers generally do not come back or comment on their own posts. This person also wrote another review on another topic. I'm thinking that everyone should lay off of this person and let them post the compliment without questioning their credibility.

Shevie, many of us enjoy hearing good things about local (non-chain) restaurants. They are always the best. Enjoyed your post.

Want NY pizza in the Phoenix area? Venezias is about as close as you can get this side of the Hudson.
