Hard Rock Hotel Complaint - Reservations - Hotel

Review by rd on 2004-07-05
SEMINOLE/HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA -- I was not told in advance about the 72hours required notice to cancell the reservation and was charged $160.00 deposit that was on the room I did give 24hrs notice and was giving a cancellation number but later informed my credit card that they would pay them because there policy was 72hrs I am upset with both the hotel and Discover for taking there side for the charge.

The Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas tried to do the same thing to me and my girlfriend back in 2001. We had reservations for the Hard Rock Hotel on September 14, 2001, but because of the terrorist attacks of September 11th, we were not able to travel as originally planned. Despite the fact that the entire nation was in a state of turmoil, and all of our local airports were just beginning to reopen after the nationwide shut-down ordered by the FAA on September 11th, the Hard Rock Hotel told us that they were going to charge us a reservation cancellation fee!!! I raised hell with the customer service representative, but they were unwilling to issue me a complete refund of the reservation cancellation fee. I contacted the WNBC Channel 4 consumer affairs reporter, Roseanne Coletti, who contacted an assitant to hotel owner Peter Morton. Needless to say, the hotel immediately reversed itself and issued a full credit to my credit card of the previously charged reservation cancellation fee.
