Comcast Corporation Complaint - Get Comcast for free if they wont help you
RICKFORD, ILLINOIS -- Last month I moved to Illinois and singed up for Comcast. What a bad mistake.
First the installer was literally retarded. I don't say that to be mean but to be honest. He could have never finished without my help and calling in a supervisor. As it was it took him 9 hours to install 2 DVR boxes and 1 new line. In the process he also broke my entertainment stand. They did quickly replace that I will say.
Since then, however, it's been nothing but a nightmare. Not one day have all the channels worked and features worked.
FInally I decided to call and complain. I told the first person I spoke with that I couldn't record any shows because the guide had "to be announced" in every time slot for every channel. She said she needed to send a "powerful" signal to my boxes and it would take 30-40 minutes to update. Okay.
Well after 1 hour still no luck only now none of the channels worked at all. The secind person tells me both boxes must be bad so I need to schedule a service appointment. Huh? Both boxes just went bad? Just like that even though I had t. v. an hour ago? Let me talk to a supervisor I said.
As I was waiting for the supervisor I decided what the hell and I unplugged the boxes and plugged them back in. LOL! Everything starts working.
FInally, after 20 minutes the supervisor gets on the phone and I tell him what I did. He says unplugging the boxes isn't part of their troubleshooting policy??? Well, maybe their policy is screwed up?
Anyway, he then tells me what I did won't be a lasting solution and I need a service appointment. Okay, but I'm not paying for it, right? Yes, he says it will be free. Okay.
Then in the same breath he says, but if they don't find anything wrong you'll have to pay. I'm like wtf? I just told you everything is fine but you're telling me my solution didn't solve the problem? LOL!
So here's what I've been doing. Everyday something doesn't work right. Either the guide doesn't update, some channel doesn't display at all, or the most common issue a channel comes in blue with a message sayhing "please wait this channel should be available soon". Huh? NO! This channel should be available right frikken now since I'm paying for it.
So everyday I call Comcast with whatever the problem is that day and get credited for one day of service. SO far in the 34 days I've had Comsact I've paid for 9.
It's actually pretty simple. They never argue about it and it sure beats talking to some foriegn idiot I can barley understand for 30 minutes.
