GE Capital Cons Cardco Compliment - Just like every other credit card company - Used to finance diamond engagement ring

Used to finance diamond engagement ring - Compliment
Review by digdug on 2004-07-05
ST. GEORGE, UTAH -- I have read quite a few complaints (and even a couple compliments) about GE Capital Cons Cardco, and thought I would add my opinion.

When I got the card, I didn't have to pay a dime the first 6 months (even though I probably should have, I wouldn't have had to pay any interest). When it came time to pay them, for some reason, they kept charging me late fees every time I paid the bill late! People complain about them sending bills erratically -- even though I never had a problem with this, it is YOUR responsibility to know what financial obligations you have. Once I started paying the bills on time, I never had a single problem with late fees.

I have also had many complain about not being able to pay the bill online, I would like to point out that I fully agree with that complaint; however, I found that you CAN pay them using Billpay on www.paypal.com. Just search for "G E Capital Consumer Card Company" (the space between the G and E is important, it took me forever to figure that out). Make sure you have your card number ready; you will need to enter it in there.

Also, it usually takes a few days for the payment to clear, so if you are worried about late fees, I would recommend submitting the payment at least a week before the due date.

I beg to differ.... any company who will attach a $1000.00 interest fee because you did not pay full balance within two years should not be considered "just like any other card compqny". didn't pay of balance's because I continued to use their products.Simple to advoid if only someone with GE had just informed me that when you get a card and it is on a "promotional" then it must be paid within the two years. This information was never provided to me either during the purchase's or through my bills. Not until I received the actual bill with the $1000.00 interest increase was I aware of this policy! I hope I will be able to have this card company understand that in the long run they will be losing more money because if I have to pay this interest I will close my account and believe me over the next 5 years they would have made much more from me then the $1000.00 interest fee..Sorry for your unrivaled misconception of this company. All credit card companies suck. Face it. Some are better than others, but credit card interest is ridiculous.

As for GE PAYMENT ONLINE-- IT CAN BE DONE, but they don't advertise it, and they don't even use the GE name in the URL. THE URL IS THIS:
http://www.retailsalesfinance.com/

You can make a same day payment easily and within minutes.
Good luck.
Pay cash.

I am inclined to think you are not paying much attention. I have my monthly payment sent to GE electronically on the due date. I am told they post payments 7 days a week and they are credited to the accounts when they recieve them. This is not the case. They post them when they want to and then charge late fees. Then they say it's the banks fault and charge you for interest. This is even when confronted with proof of payment from my financial institution. So in the future I think you should take a closer look at what you are being charged by GE Capitol.
