Comcast Corporation Complaint - What a Mess - Cable/Internet/Phone
I signed up to have Comcast install three cable boxes, a new line in the study, internet service, and digital phone service. When the installer showed up after waiting two weeks for an appointment the work order was missing two of the cable boxes and the extra cable line. They also failed to transport my existing phone number over to their service. All the technician could do was to complain about being over booked and in a hurry.
I called Comcast who has an option for everything except installation problems. After 30 minutes of being transferred to the right person, we were disconnected before the issue could be resolved.
I tried online chat which at least got me directly to some one who could address the issues. Unfortunately when the make a mistake, you still have to wait the standard one to two weeks until they can find a service appointment to come fix what they did not do correctly in the first place.
Assuming nothing is messed up when they come back out, it will have taken a month to get the full order executed correctly.
Suddenly the $1,500 it is going to cost me to rewire the house for AT&T Uverse is not looking so outrageous.
Mean while the internet service keeps cutting out and the cable service quality varies from very good to fuzzy depending in the station. I filled out my third authorization form to have my phone number transported over. Thank God I had so little confidence in them that I did not cancel my existing phone service or I would have lost my home number.
If you live in Houston and have an alternative to Comcast, take it.
