Fleet Credit Card Services Complaint - This is wrong - credit card

LAKE OSWEGO, OREGON -- My husband and I are Fleet Credit Card holders and decided to apply for this card based on the 0% APR until 2005 offer made to us. We have held the card for approximately 8 months and have paid on time. My husbands job has recently expanded to include several more states and requires travel. Last month we made a substantial payment on our account so that it could be used specifically for travel. Yesterday, we received a notice informing us that our credit limit had been lowered due to high balances with other creditors. This decision has put us into serious jeopardy with regard to my husbands ability to perform his job. THIS IS WRONG. WRONG. WRONG. In addition to this, the newly lowered credit limit has put us over our credit limit and we will be charged a late fee! We will never use this card again in our lifetime. BEWARE!

They can't lower your credit limit past your existing balance and charge you a late (it's actually an overlimit charge). You need to call them again. There must be a mistake. They can lower your limit though without warning if they feel you are incurring too much overall debt.
