DirecTV Inc Complaint - The Worst Customer Service EVER!! and they lied to me 3 times!
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, COLORADO -- I called Direct TV to see if they could beat Comcast's price for the same exact service. They said yes they could beat it by $50 a month and the service would be exactly the same. Great! AFTER installation I'm told there's a $200 charge for the HD boxes and a $10 monthly fee. I said hold on. I called customer service and got it straightened out. No charge for HD notated on my account and will call in a couple of days to set up date to bring out the HD boxes. No one ever called. I called and was told I didn't even have an account. They cancelled it. I called back again. Spoke to a supervisor. He said he would take care of it. He said he could not amend my new account but would send me over to someone who could. I asked for a confirmation e-mail regarding the HD boxes being free and he said that could not be done. I said will this person know the situation. "Oh yes, he'll know the whole spiel". Well, he didn't know anything and told me I would have to pay for the boxes. I asked to speak to the supervisor again and was told that I could not. I said I have the name and employee ID number "well we can't possible locate that person". I said they're in Los Angeles. I was told that didn't make any difference. I called to cancel my new/second account and was told I needed to talk to a supervisor first. I said no just cancel my acct. No you have to talk to a super. The super hassled me and told me that even though I wouldn't have HD that they were still cheaper than Comcast and I should think about the bottom line.
One employee doesn't have a clue about what any other employee has said they have notated on my account either that or they are all lying to get me to sign on the bottom line whether I'm happy or not. I've been with Comcast over 20 years and they've never lied to me. I'd rather pay more than go through the Direct TV circus of crap customer service.
