Fleet Credit Card Complaint - Change of Information Without Authorization

Review by gnere on 2004-07-09
CALIFORNIA -- I would like to share my "Horrible" experience with this Company. First off, I have been a Fleet Visa Customer for almost 3 years and been satisfied with their service. On June of this year,I lost my credit card and promptly reported it stolen. A week or so later I received my new card activated it and used it at least 3 times. The next time I used it... each transactions I made were denied/declined. This prompted me to call customer service and check with them why this is happening. Fleet Visa Customer service Rep. "Sanday", claims that the Credit Card I have was reported stolen and a new one was on its way. I told her that I received a new one and I have used it at least 3 times without problem. I demanded some explanation, asked her when the Visa card was stolen etc...However she can't verify it...I then told her to verify my mailing address and phone number. Low and behold, she gave me a different address and phone number. I then asked her to change the address back to my current address and the phone number , made sure that new card that was being issued will go to my address and changed password in my account so that nobody can access my account except me which she gladly agreed to do.
Few days later, I called Fleet Visa Customer service to check on my account... To my surprise, the password I gave to access my account did not match as the CSR claims so I can't get any information regarding my account. I demanded explanation and asked to speak to a supervisor to clear things up... the Supervisor claimed he can't help me since my password would not match to the current password.I explained to him what happened and told him that I changed the password a few days back and I even gave him the old password that I previously used. Still this guy will not believe me so he then transferred me to their Fraud Service. Another guy answers(Frank), asked me bunch of questions which I promptly answered then I explained to him what is happening... The guy, refuse to give me any information regarding my Fleet Visa Account although I answered and confirmed the information he asked. He told me that they will do an investigation... When I asked if someone will contact me he refused to answer and said they will investigate....

Why did this happen??? How could the people I trusted with my account and identity, change information with out my knowledge??? I need explanation from Fleet Visa Credit Card Service???
Who do I contact to solve this miss??? Please help...!!!
Thanks
