KitchenAid Informative - Thumbs down for kitchenaid high end products
We purchased the top of the line stainless Kitchenaid appliances when we remodeled our kitchen eight years ago. It was the worst decision we ever made. Our double over required replacement (after we fought with the company for months) under warranty. Next our stovetop stopped working, it would go into lock mode in the middle of use. I called a repair company to look at the problem. Since he had to turn off power to diagnose the problem for a while, it seemed to reset itself and worked fine. But only after it cost us $165 to get the repairman to our house and he informed us that the repair would cost over $500. I told him no that we would wait til it broke again. He then put the "fear" in us by telling us that it may happen when we really needed our stovetop. Now the same thing happened with our dishwasher. We did not want to call a repair person as we thought it would be better to replace it. Just for the heck of it, we turned off the power to our dishwasher and left it off for a few hours. Guess What Happened? Yes, it started working perfectly and has been for a few weeks. Beware it seems as though this is money making scheme... just try to turn off the power for a few hours, it could save you money.
