BookinHotels.com Complaint - DISREPUTABLE and UNCARING - Bookinhotels.com online booking servce

Bookinhotels.com online booking servce - Complaint
Review by PSRIC on 2009-09-14
SABAL-OZAR TURIZM IN INSTANBUL, TR -- Bookinghotels.com has made a nightmare of my upcoming trip to New Orleans in Feb of 2010. Because of disability I need to stay close to the activities I am participatinging in. I booked my hotel in Apr of 2009 at a very reasonable rate. I found in Jun that the hotel I reservered had been closed. Bookinhotels REQUIRES prepayment of charges to complete the booking.

I notified them that the property was closed and how were they going to accommodate another booking.
Over the next 5-6 weeks I kept sending Emails to them and receiving "STOCK" email responses saying that my reservation was confirmed and that there was no problem with the hotel I had booked.

Yesterday Sept 13, I received notice from them that the hotel WAS closed and that they were sorry that they could only accommodate my reservatoin at two hotels...One about 5 miles from my needed location and in a VERY dangerous part of town, and the other at the airport which is approx 20 miles from my needed destination. AND both of which were a minimum of DOUBLE the rate that I had already paid in advance.

They have a horrible history I found out of refunding the travelors money so I contacted my Credit Card Company to prepare for the fight to get my money back.

This agency does not let you know that it is located in TURKEY and when you try to reach them it can only be done during hours of operation in TURKEY I came to find out. They only advertise a US and UK phone number. Neither of which I have ever been able to reach anyone at.

SO BEWARE OF THIS disreputable company.

i feel like i can not tell people enough to only use these sites to find the hotels in the area and call those hotels yourself. more work? yes. less headaches? yes.

Sorry for your terrible experience. I would keep checking hotels for a cancellation. I would also call a travel agent(local). They have access to availability of all the hotels in the area you need.
Good Luck!!

You did not say how you found out the hotel was closed, why it was closed, or if you contacted the hotel directly to see if they had rooms at another hotel. I agree that it is best to book the hotel directly. The problem here is the hotel may already have been paid, and they may have your money.

Fortunately you have 5 months to make another reservation before your trip so you can still have a good time.
