Comcast Corporation Complaint - Foolish Pricing Games
Comcast called to say our pricing was changing from the "teaser" rate of $99 to $138.95, but they felt so genereous they were going to offer us a $10 discount!?!!? Are you kidding me? Even with this insult of the $10 discount, Comcast seems to think they can (in these economic times) raise a users rates roughly 30%. What an arrogant and foolish move to try and insult the intlelligence and pocket books of your customers. To add isult to injury, I opened up a Comcast business mailing today and Comcast is offering a $79/month "teaser" rate for phone/internet/TV?!?! Of course, when I ask them to honor that price on the residential side, they say they "can't"- hmmm? The representative I was speaking to offered to transfer me to the "Loyolty/Retention" Dept. (what a joke!) For customers that care to take the time to play their game, they have another "new and improved price" which is still over 15% higher than the teaser rate. This is as much fun as negotaiting to buy a car. I know of some other phone/internet companies that had/have this similar arrogance and short-sightedness that have played these types of pricing games with their customers. These companies have watched their market share and profitability take a nose dive. I intend to speak with my wallet. Thanks for wasting my time Comcast- By the way, how much will it cost you to spend the marketing dollars to replace the existing paying customers like me that won't play your pricing game?!?! Have you really thought this one through??
