Shepherd Toyota of Ft. Scott, Kansas Complaint - Terrible Toyota Dealership
FT. SCOTT, KANSAS -- I recently took my 2003 Sequoia into Shepherd Toyota @ Ft. Scott to be fixed. I had an appointment @3:00 on Tuesday 9/8 and gave them both my home and cell numbers to contact me. I told them at this time that I needed the car back by Friday @11:00 AM. They never even looked at the car until sometime Wednesday. We received a call at 11:00 AM on Wednesday asking if we wanted to order the part; we said yes. They never attempted to call my cell phone on Tuesday to order the part. The part was in Kansas City, but they still did not have it in Ft. Scott by Friday AM on the 11th. I was without my car for 3 1/2 days during which time they changed my oil and a light bulb, but the original problem (the hatch latch) was never fixed. They told me the part might be in on Monday and to drive back over then. The service attendant told me it was not her fault that the part had not come in. I say it was someone's fault they did not order it on Tuesday, and they definitely did not follow up. It is a 19 mile drive from my home to Ft. Scott. I finally took the car to Toyota in Joplin, MO and they ordered the part from KC and had it in in one business day and changed it out within 2 hours. They were wonderful. The Ft. Scott dealership manager contacted me and I said I felt they owed us some compensation (specifically refunding the $50 they charged for the oil change...since they kept my car 3 1/2 days). He stated that they never refund money for services rendered. This was NO Service. I have been a faithful Toyota consumer since 1985 and have used dealerships in Florida, Virginia, Ohio, St. Louis, and Iowa and I have never received service like this. We had even referred people to this dealership, but no more. I will tell everyone I know that this dealership is very poor. Toyota management should rethink letting these people run a dealership for you.
