Wal-Mart Complaint - Overcharging in Automotive
ANKENY, IOWA -- ‘Went to the Wal-mart in Ankeny, IA today to get my oil changed. Several times in the past I have requested and received a regular oil change, but I provided my own synthetic oil.. Did that today, and got charged for a full synthetic oil change (as if they had provided the oil) with a credit for regular oil price. Again, they cover their tracks by saying it was a policy change, which they forgot to mention to me.
My point is, they were ripping me before for the full cost of an oil change with no credit for the oil they didn't provide. Yes, now they give a credit for oil if you provide your own, but they charge double for the oil change (synthetic oil change price) while crediting at regular oil prices. The labor costs to Wal-mart are no more than a regular oil change, but they’ve quietly changed their policy to gouge even more. Why did they not tell me when I asked for a regular oil change using my oil that they had changed their policy. …Price-gouging scum-suckers.
After this experience and the rest of the posts I see on this site, I would tell everyone to avoid Wal-mart automotive service at all costs. In fact I intend to take all my business to the local food chain and to Target.
