Jack Daniels Volkswagen Complaint - Charged for things not wanted

Review by Jack Daniels stinks on 2009-09-17
FAIR LAWN, NEW JERSEY -- I brought my car in for service to Jack Daniels Volkswagen in Fairlawn, NJ. I signed a statement saying they could do up to $110 dollars (a. k.a. my cost if the work wasn't covered by the warranty). Later on I get a bill for over $2,000 and had to pay it or I couldn't get my car back. This after I verbally agreed to 1,500. So, I have written approval for 110, verbal for 1,500 and a real bill of 2,300.

All I know is what a rip off, so please do not go there

Check your state law. In Florida, the law allows you to post the money in the disputed amount of car repairs with the clerk of the county court, and the court will order the mechanic to release the vehicle. The mechanic then has to go to court and prove his case to get the money. Florida Statute 559.917.

Whoever wrote up your bill must have had a little bit too much "Jack Daniels" at the bar the night before. Any car dealership that is named after a whiskey leaves much to be desired.
