Greyhound Complaint - Greyhound not swift - greyhound bus trip
WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA -- September 18, 2009
At 3pm I was standing in the line at Gate 9, Washington, DC, wondering where our bus to Philadelphia was. At 3:30 we still wondered. It showed up in the slot soon after then. A bunch of guys with the fluorescent vests hung around the bus with finally one climbing in the rest room's window. Evidently the door had gotten locked with no one in there. Then more waiting. Some woman peeked out the door and asked for an update; she was told 'soon.' At 4pm a Greyhound guy walked down our line asking to see each person's ticket. He sent some to the left, some to the right, the rest of to stay at gate 9. They let the right, then left lines get on the bus. I guessed, correctly, those were the people going to Baltimore and Wilmington. At 4:05, as the bus left, we were told they were getting us our own bus; it was just across the street and the woman driver would bring it to the gate in a few minutes. Then it was said to be coming for us at 4:30. Long before this I'd sat on the floor in the line. Then others also did. WHen 4:30 arrived I kept looking out the door to see if the bus was there. At 4:40 we were let onto a bus that had already been sitting there. Since we'd been split up, each person had their own double seat.
We pulled out, supposedly express to Philadelphia, but it was only almost. Somewhere along the way, in Maryland, the bus stopped at the side of the highway and the driver got out for a few minutes, then back on. We never heard what that was about. Then we pulled into Baltimore where I thought 'oh no' we're going to get seatmates. Instead on of the women on our bus (on her phone) got out, ran back across the bus lot and got onto a bus out there. I guess she had meant to be on that one with her other people.
Got into Philadelphia, with no other incidents, around 8:30 instead of the originally scheduled 6:45. I went straight to bed
