Rheem Manufacturing Complaint - Hot Water Heaters Not So Hot

Review by murphyslawiselin on 2009-09-20
We upgraded our house by having a new heating system installed, along with two hot water heaters--one for the front of the house, one for the back. The original hot water heater was an A.O. Smith and always reliable, but due to its age (almost 13 years) we thought it best to replace. Huge mistake. Rheem hot water heaters have both failed periodically, requiring a shutdown and restart to deliver hot water.

Calling customer service got us nowhere--not customer friendly at all. Plumber who installed replaced a part, but problem still continues. Both heaters are made in Mexico. No quality assurance there, obviously. In U. S., no customer service, either.

It is a WATER HEATER!! Who wants to heat hot water? I know a great many people call this appliance a hot water heater, but that does not make it correct. IF DB can have a bug in the bonnet about soda pop, I can have a bug about people calling a waterheater something else.

One vote "water heater" One vote "soda pop"
