American Express Van Lines Complaint - Warning To Moving Consumers!!!!!!!

Review by cincychic on 2009-09-21
ATLANTA GEORGIA, GEORGIA -- I am joining the two sent guy that used American express van lines moving company. This is a warning and a red light to all out there that are looking for a moving company. DO NOT USE AMERICAN EXPRESS VAN LINES!!!!!!!!!

First of all, when we were looking for a company to help us, American express van lines started out doing a biding war with other caompany's. They gave us a quote over the phone that everything could be done for 1200. The owner then came to our loft and saw that we lived on the forth floor of our building, then bosted it to 1500. So we did the initial move to Florida. When we got there waiting for the truck, they THEN called us told us they needed a additional 600 because they got fined on the high way for going over weight limits. We were like NO!! We have a signed contract stating we owe you 600 at delivery as the remaning balance. The truck driver was like that's what the boss is saying I can't give you your belongings till the money is given. Then we then played phone tag with the owner for over an hour. We finally came to an aggrement that we would pay 150 extra that was it.

So now that everyting is unloaded we now see that our bedroom furniture is scrated to HELL, eveything the 2 large dressers, head and foot board. Our TV got broken, wine and martini glasses were crushed. Plus we are missing a very expensive piece of hanging art work. I have been trying to contact them with claims and I can't get the respect of any kind of answer.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! I plead with all of you if you love you're belongings and want a stress free move,,look onward with another company.
