Asurion Complaint - Fake insurance

Review by jeremy9409 on 2009-09-23
I got my BlackBerry back in 2/2009 and about a week ago, my phone quit working completley, called the insurance agency and said that I had a 95 dollar deductible from my account, which the phone didn't seem damaged, and I really didn't see why I had to pay so much just to get a replacement for a faulty phone! this agency is crap! I pay almost ten dollars a month for their fake insurance that they say is so good. Absolutley terrible. for all Alltel, Sprint, Verizon or whatever, beware!

i have an env2 from verizon that i've had for a bit over a year, and i also pay for that insurance. recently, my phone will only charge by connecting it to my laptop and it shuts off randomly all the time. they told me it would be $50 to replace it. luckily, i can just hold off until i qualify for an upgrade. but what do i pay insurance for? i feel your pain.

I considered cell phone insurance for my daughter's, but realized that after paying the $10 per month fee plus the deductible, I could merely buy a new phone for the new price, and not have to hassle with an insurance company.

Did you try to contact the manufacturer? It might still be under warranty with them. I've used this insurance with a damaged phone and had no problems. I already knew I had a deductible to pay, but the customer service from them was great. They quickly sent me another phone along with a prepaid mailer to send the other phone back.

Do you realize ANY insurance company has a deductible? Home, car, health. They all have them.
