Budget Rent-A-Car Complaint - Not Recommended-If You Are In A Professional Or In A Bind
I recently rented a car from Budget and wanted to continue the rental into another week. I decided to call from my desk (the car is at home) and requested the extension. To my surprise I was told, "if I don't know the Rental Agreement number and the MVA number they cannot help me. I was mortified, in these mordern times the actual confirmation number that I had from their email, my name and my cr card number was not suitable information for them to do a search in their "antiquated" system? Furthermore, I could never reach the direct location at the LeMeredian Hotel which is on Sydney Street in Cambridge MA. Although their number is 617.577.7606-you could never reach them directly, the call goes somewhere in "lala land" and these people simply let you know you are screwed and that no manager or anyone else can help you. If you don't return the car by the specified time? "YOUR PROBLEM!" The morale of this story, Dont rent their old ugly cars then have to deal with a dinosaur era system that is not recommended for the dot com generation or people on the move. THEY HAVE BEEN LEFT BEHIND WITH THIS GENERATION. They totally pissed me off; in these recession times now I have to leave work a few hours early to go home to the car and get that info; which should have been at the touch of a button in their office. So much to exceptional public service and thanks for the eFFort!!
